CHALLENGES

Minecraft. But the rules change.

Every run is a Minecraft world with one twist. Defeat the dragon while it is always night? That is a challenge. Each run happens on a server of its own, so it stays yours, and between runs you wait in a calm basecamp.

  • Solo or group
  • Real survival worlds
  • Casual or ranked

Pick a rule.

Defeat the dragon while it is always night? That is a challenge. Choose the rule, the goal, the world and how many people play.

  • Try. Fail. Again.

Alone or with friends, in a real survival world with all three dimensions. Everyone has their own inventory, the goal is shared.

  • Start where it is calm.

The run assistant suggests the gentlest challenge first, with notes on time pressure, darkness and quick inventory changes before you start. Choices that do not fit are greyed out, and the game says why.

A basecamp between runs.

You wait in a valley with a plaza, a campfire, gates to the runs, a mirror pond and a hall for records. Menus sit at stations in the lobby, and nearly everything also works by command.

Make it count.

Casual to learn, ranked when you are ready. Ranked runs use unchanged presets with a fixed seed, so everyone plays the same world and results compare. Leaderboards remember.

  • Not alone.

Invite friends, or let others watch an open run. Pause a casual run whenever you need and continue within seven days. If the server crashes, a casual run continues from its last save.

  • Make your own.

In the Studio you assemble a challenge, share it with a code, and the team can approve it as an official one. Custom runs are always marked as custom.

More, if you want it
  • 12 challenges, several goals and presets. Not every rule is shown here.
  • Official presets have leaderboards. Custom runs are marked as custom.
  • Chat, tab list, world and inventory of a run are visible only to the people in it.
  • A short loading bar shows the preparation, and you can cancel at any time.
  • Up to three casual runs can be paused at the same time.
  • Menus work with and without the resource pack.
